Knast Pagani geschlossen

das gefängnis von pagani ist seit heute mittag leer.
alle flüchtlinge werden freigelassen.
nach den kontinuerlichen revolten der letze wochen und nachdem die zellen so zerstört waren das sie nicht mehr benutzt werden konnten und nachdem nach ein fall von polzeigewalt gegenüber von 6 flüchtlinge eine anzeige gegen sie gemacht würde.
ein sehr schöner tag für alle die menschen die freigelassen würden.
trotzdem solange es andere gefängnisse gibt gibt es keinen grund zur beruhigung.
wir bleiben wachsam und im widerstand.

Pagani is empty!!! The last four people are released, the others are
waiting for the ferry to leave in direction athens. Today two buses full
were deported to xios.

The End!?

As it was to suspect yesterday, the detention centre of Pagani became
the ghost town of today. Pagani is know empty, except of four refugees.
It is not clear jet what will happen with them.

Today they released two buses from pagani. When the buses left eight
people remained in Pagani, a family with four members was released short
after the others. . One of them a unaccompanied minor, the other on is Abdul Hadi Otman Zahi. He
has a red card and lives in Mytilini. A few days ago he was controlled
by the Police who take his red card away and brought him to Pagani.Now, there are also free

The released refugees are in the harbor of Mytilini right now. The ferry
to Athens was supposed to leave at six o’clock to day. Because of the
stormy weather it will not leave before midnight. Anyway, the atmosphere
in the harbor is cheerful. Every one got a ticket and there is enough
food for all.

... pls consider that the official statement refer to 'temporary closure and renovation' of Pagani, i.e. Pagani has not been shut down! Due to winter harsh conditions migration fluxes will be limited now. So it will be easier for the authorities to get these people to other detentions centers, or to hotels. They do that already by imprisoning migrants caught in Lesvos to Mersinidi in Chios. The policy of detention hasn't change at all! Either the conditions of it, if that's the first and minimum thing we should care about. Let's wait and see if and how will they materialize this "renovation" project and above all let's wait for next spring and summer.

Wirksamer Widerstand

Die Geschichte rund um das Internierungslager Pagani zeigt: Widerstand gegen Gefängnisse ist meist dann effektiv, wenn er in Inneren statt findet. Wichtig ist die Unterstützung von draußen, doch sollten die Unterstützer_innen jetzt nicht den Fehler machen und den Erfolg für sich verbuchen, da ohne den ausdauernden und anhaltenden Widerstand der Gefangenen noch kein Lager geschlossen wurde. Es sind immer die Gefangenen, die letztendlich dafür sorgen, dass sie frei kommen. Und in den meisten Fällen sind sie alleine, ohne Unterstützung von draußen. Da sich überall in Europa Lager zur Internierung von Migrant_innen und Flüchtlingen befinden, sollte der Protest überall dorthin getragen werden, wo Menschen hinter Zäunen und Gitterstäben für ihre Freiheit kämpfen, bis das Ziel erreicht ist: [i]Alle Schubhäfn und Internierungslager müssen geschlossen werden![/i]
